As we approach the end of May and National Nurses Month, consider asking the nurses in your family the meaning of the award "pens" they may have. You just might be surprised at their answers. Make note of them.

Years ago I had a talented friend create a charcoal rendering of five seperate photos. These photos were of me, my mother, my grandmother, and my great grandmother (who I never met). He brought life to five generations and something my daughter holds dear.

I suggest you consider doing the same.  I am writing this today because I know of (met but don't know personally) someone whose work is extraordinary and reasonable.

Something old:

This is the season everyone gets together and family stories float through the air like music. This year PLAN to capture some of them. Record them. Write them down.

One easy way is take one photo that is old and use it to tell one of the relative stories you hear repeated this year. Create one scrapbook just to tell the story of the one photo. Or write a one page summary. Or record the story via audio or video. Keep is simple and just do it.

Something New:

PLAN to listen and watch for those once-in-a lifetime moments that most certainly will happen this year.  Picture one to the many photos you will take and write what happen. Be as creative or as simple as you like. It is about the story. A talented rendering can come later.
