2021, Feb 02 – Tampa Bay History Center Recording

I was afforded an opportunity to record a 2 minute clip to highlight the incredible story of Blanche Armwood for Black History Month.

2021, Feb 01 – WOCG Inaugural Golf Tournament

During the awards luncheon, several great moments materialized on this day.

I accompanied Mrs. Doris Ross Reddick, the first African American Women to chair the Hillsborough County School Board, to the  Inaugural Women of Color Golf 9-hole Classic Awards Luncheon. Clemmie Perry (her daughter and WOCG Founder) was awarded the PGA’s Charity of the Year.

Rhonde Barber, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Legend and  the event’s Emcee, spoke words I that I wrote. From his research about Clemmie, he expressed that his favorite statement was  “Driving Their Dreams Down The Fairway”. This is the title of the article I wrote about WOCG introducing Clemmie’s new organization to the world.

Jan Bel Jan, Golf Course Archiect and WOCG Advisory Board Member shared invites at the  Inaugural Women of Color Golf 9-hole Classic in partnership with NFL Alumni Tampa Bay Chapter at Carrollwood. Jan Bel Jan is one of only three women golf course designers in the United States and only 10 in the world. She  held up the book I co-wrote with Mrs. Reddick saying in essence “like the words on this books reads ‘ One Person Can Make a Difference” – One person can make a difference.

As I presented Rhonde Barber with a copy of African American’s of Tampa, Tahisia Scantling gave a wonderful and energetic endorsement to Mr. Barber of my overall efforts to share local Black history! Thank you Tahisia!
